About My Website

My uncle asked me to create a website for his catering business, Creative Catering. I wanted to create a website that represented my uncles business and quality of food and service he puts into his work. I looked up other catering website to see what looked good and what didn't. What seemed to catch the eye and what steered me away.

I found that softer colors would represented the fine dining services my uncle stood by. So I chose a white marble effect for the background so the images of his food stood out and would be the first thing a potential client would see. The header is an elegant script while the rest of the text is a standard text and easy on the eyes. Everything is uniform to fit in the midle of the screen. That would then drive them to easy navigation of the top headers where they could see prices and menu options, read real live reviews from happy customers and most important a quick form to contact us for quotes and questions.

This was a great project. Since I am a hands on learning type, I was able to understand more through trial and error. This was the first time I thought about using Adobe Dreamweaver. I currently do webdesign through SharePoint, making all my icons on a word document then snipping them to JPEG. If I had more time or thought about doing this during the course more, I think I would have been able to add more design elements. I wanted to do circular header images across the right side and a carousel of food but struggled on finding one and didnt have time to create. In all I am satisfied and hope it all works for you Mr. Testerman.
