Emily complained that we've been best friends for 16 years, yet had only one picture on the fun pics page so this is my shrine to her. |

Emily and I first met about 16 years ago in an organization called Civil Air Patrol. It is an Air Force auxiliary somewhat like ROTC. It also does search and rescue missions for downed aircraft and missing persons. Little did either of us know the friendship that would develop. |

This picture is a perfect example of the kinds of things we used to find amusing (and admittedly still do). We used to be attached at the hip doing stuff like this all the time. My mom told me at one point that we were spending too much time together. We are still not sure if this was because my mom thought Emily was a bad influence or me, or she thought we were lesbians. |

I know this picture doesn't seem like much, but it has a great story to go along with it. We decided it was a good idea to sleep in the car one night (I never said we did smart things). We drove off into Amelia and down some random dirt road until it dead-ended. We both had to go to the bathroom, so we each took different sides of the car. I look up to see Emily put her shoes and socks on top of the car. She explained that she didn't want to accidently you-know-what. I still make fun of her for that. |
