My Cats
This page is dedicated to the love of my two cats, Punky Brewster and Charlotte.   Both are very, very spoiled.
I adopted Punky from the Richmond Animal League on August 1st of 2002 when she was 3.5 months old.  She was a handful at the time.  She had boundless energy and I swore she never slept.  She was a very social cat and I could put her around any other animal and she would walk right up to them and try to play with them.  This wasn't so great with dogs as she didn't seem to have any healthy fear of something 20 times bigger than her.  She was very difficult to train and even to this day she still does stuff she is not supposed to.  She is very headstrong and intelligent and she learned quickly to do the forbidden things when I wasn't around.  I had to resort to alarms with motion sensors that would catch her up on the counters when I wasn't around.  Even then, she figured that out and learned that if it went off and she froze, it would turn off.  I know she still gets up there now (I sanitize my counters before cooking) and she tears up the occasional roll of toilet paper.  She also is known for leaving presents when she is unhappy with a new addition in the house.  The aquarium got several and even Mike got one on his t-shirt one day early on.
I adopted Charlotte from the Albemarle SPCA on October 25th of 2003 when she was 7 weeks old.  I wanted Punky to have a playmate and Charlotte seemed to be what was needed.  She is a real sweetheart, very loving to the point of being irritating sometimes.  She loves to crawl into bed with you and do the kneading thing on you until she decides to crawl up and go to sleep.  She is very playful with everybody.  Her and Punky love to wrestle and chase eachother around.  I have also seen them cleaning eachother.  Charlotte has these moments where she turns crazy and will run around the apartment and make this loud growling noise.  She does has some health problems though.  She was recently diagnosed with eosinophilic granuloma complex.  Some of her immune cells will attack the skin and form ulcers on her lip and a long, scabby patch down the back of her thigh.  This doesn't seem to affect her much except for the occasional swollen lip.
I suppose I should mention that I also have two fancy goldfish and two apple snails in a 55 gallon.  They provide a lot of entertainment for the cats, though that is not why I have them.
