Permaculture is a set of ethics and principles which provide a framework for developing better, more sustainable and fulfilling lifestyles.
The three ethics of permaculture are: Earthcare, Peoplecare and Fairshares.
In a nutshell these ethics relate to how we behave - earthcare is about looking after our environment, the land, plants, animals, insects etc; peoplecare is about taking care of each other as well as ourselves; and fairshares is about not taking more than we actually need.
There are fuller definitions and descriptions about what permaculture actually means but one of the most important principles is about taking action at a personal level and taking responsibility for our actions.
