Brief History Of William
Patrick
& Julia ( Baldwin ) Valentine Family
William Patrick was born in Orangeburg District, South
Carolina January 8, 1821 and died in Polk County (Trinity County
at time of Death), Texas, October 13, 1862. Julia was born about 1823 in Alabama. They were married in Macon County Ala. July 22, 1841. Julia died after 1888.
They had two children before they came to Texas, Mary and Daniel.
They had 5 more children between 1852 and 1864. Annie,Thomas,James,Salina
and John. Thomas died in 1878 and Salina died in 1884. During
the time between 1860 and 1880 Daniel married Jarushia Gates,
Mary E. married Jasper Cooke, Annie J. married John McMillan and
James married Ellobie Fussell and had two children, Levi and
Mary Frances "Fannie".
Annie's husband (John McMillan) died june 13, 1881
and she married J. W. Doss
J. W. died November 17, 1887 and She married F. A. Knox
October 17, 1889 (per Houston County marriage records)
Mary and husband (Jasper Cooke) moved to Milam
County (around town of Davilla), before 1891. They buried son
James in 1891, and Mary and Jasper both were buried in same
cemetery at Davilla.
Sometime after 1880 James, John and Daniel relocated to McClennan
County around Mart Texas. We do not have any information at time of this
writing, where or when Julia was buried. (we believe she was buried at
Friday, Texas with John Foster McMillan ).
It is believed that Annie J. stayed in the vicinity of Trinity
County until her last husbands death. (Alex Knox). But she was buried
with her Valentine family and her McMillan decendants in Bold Springs
Cemetery at West, Texas.
Most all of imediate decendents of Daniel and John
stayed in the general area. of Waco, and Texas. James Monroe's
family (from three wives, Ellobie Addeline Fussell, Rachael
Thompson, and Mary Garett) were scattered from
Arkansas to Dallas, Waco, and Houston. James Monroe is buried in Bold Springs Cemetery at West, Texas.
