| The beauty- undescribable. Miles and miles full of rolling hills, waterfalls, caves, clear blue creeks...it seems much like a fantasy world, but it is very real. Located right along the border of East TN and West NC, the smokies provide anyone and everyone with breathtaking paranormic views and hundreds of miles of trails for hiking. Abundant wildlife, such as bears, wolves, fox, coyote, deer, and even a cougar or two has been spotted. The smokies are unfortunately cursed with air pollution, which causes a deep fog over the area, it is beautiful, but unhealthy. But on a good day, you can see hundreds of miles without fog. There are many small cities nestled in these mountains. Many beautiful creeks with clear waters for fishing, swimming, or just relaxing. Giant rocks are all around, so you can go rock hopping, but remember to be careful, it is slippery. White water rafting is common among some of the rivers. Skiing, horseback riding, jet ski riding, and motorcycle riding are common attractions for the outdoors type of person. There is even a road made especially for motorcycle riders to take, right through the mountains...imagine...free like the wind....surrounded by beautiful scenery. There are a few tourist cities, so if you want peace and serenity, avoid them, and be outside of them. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is made for people who would love to enjoy the great scenery, in a protected environment. There is no hunting allowed in the park, (which is huge) so animals are free to run. Cade's Cove provides animal watchers with deer, elk, and bears, this truely is a magical place, thank God for creating it especially for us to enjoy. I feel like it is a little taste of Heaven. The Smoky Mountains are attatched to the Appalachain Mountain range, which is directly up north. |
