A TRIP TO THE ZOO

I think we’ll take a trip to the zoo

We’ll see the lions

And the tigers too

But we wont catch the cheetah

It’s too fast for you

The elephants are large I’m told

The monkeys can be very bold

The horses let you ride their backs

That’s no lie, it’s a fact

There’s creepy crawlies behind some glass

And snake skin to feel as cold as ice

So you can leave behind your jar

Thought I didn’t see it in the car

We’ll get some bread on the way

Feed the ducks for part of the day

Maybe search through the hay

Just to see what the chickens lay

If you find an egg or two

I’ll ask if we can take them home

But it’s got to be rapped in foam

There might be wolfs crunching bones

Or even bears we’ll leave well alone

A massive bald eagle sitting still

See the size of its talons and its bill

Round the corner to the right

What you’ll see will give you a fright

 In a room totally dark

Hear the coyote’s crying bark

Feel the beating of its wing

While listening to the bat as he sings

I know I know you don’t want to go

“Lets have one more look round before heading home”

Im sorry but we just can’t stay

“I promise we’ll come back another day”

Your mum will be wondering where we’re at

“They’d better not have bought a cat”

So we get in the car and hit road

“Look Dad at that giant toad”

Eventually we reach the house

Screamed aloud “You got a mouse”
