Wow, what a weekend!!! Christian's parents arrived in town on Friday for his graduation. Saturday was his BIG day!! It went great!!! The ceremony at UofM Deaborn was really nice. We were joined by my parents as well as his. We followed the ceremony up with drinks and munchies at our house with our neighbors Doug and Kay. Little did Christian know but Doug and Kay had a wonderful surprise in store for him. They arranged for a limo to pick us all up and take us out to dinner and where ever else we wanted to go!!! Needless to say, he was super surprised!!! Once the limo arrived all 8 of us piled in and headed off to Cafe West for an incredible celebration dinner. We all had a great time!!! A special thank you goes out to my parents, Christian's parents, and of course Doug and Kay for helping to make this a weekend he will never forget!!!
Unfortunately, the end of our weekend was not nearly as good as the beginning was. My mom's dad is extremely ill and is in ICU at a hospital well to our north. Christian and I went to visit him yesterday and I was shocked at how bad he looked. I instantly broke down into tears once I saw him just lying there. He did not even look like my grandfather. They have him sedated and on morphine for the pain. He recently suffered from a stroke followed by a heart attack. Now his is battling aspiration pneumonia. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he pulls out of this but it does not look good. He did manage to wake up for a few minutes to visit with us but it was very difficult to understand him due to the drugs and his impaired speech. I am very thankful that I had my husband there for support. I do not know what I would have done if I was there alone. So, again I am asking for some extra prayers to be sent this way in hopes that my grandfather pulls through.
