Entry for October 30, 2006 - Not great news

I feel like I am constantly only able to post sad news.  My grandfather was sent home from the hospital over the weekend.  He has entered hospice.  He had a full body CT done last week and it revealed that his cancer has spread even more.   It is not only in his prostate and bones but it has now entered his liver and lymph system.  This was not good news.  But, at least he is home and comfortable for the time being.  My grandmother is very happy to have him home again after him being in the hospital for well over two weeks.  My grandfather is in good spirits and seems like my good ol Papa again.  I can only hope that this continues for some time yet.  I am not ready to lose him and I do not think I ever really will be at that point.  We are really hoping that he is able to make it until next April.  That month marks his 60th wedding anniversary and that is a major milestone for the two of them.  By then he will also have two more great grandchildren to celebrate - ours is due sometime in mid to late January and my brother and his wife are expecting in late March.  So, please continue to keep the prayers going for him and the rest of my family.

Some better and lighter news......

Our little one continues to be very active.  He/she seems to be constantly awake now.  I know that is not the case but that is what it feels like.  You are able to see almost all the movements on the outside of my belly now.   It is amazing!  Christian was playing with him/her the other morning.  Each time he would poke my belly the baby would kick or punch back.  It was really cute and the look on Christian's face was priceless!  These are just some of the things that I am going to miss about being pregnant once this little blessing arrives.
