Trying to decide if I want to stop my access to www.ancestry.ca for a while. I'm paying $10 a month and not using it. Adds up after a while. About the only thing I've used it for and havent done it in a while is using it for family trees with an indirect relation. Found several actually, including a couple of long ones.

Was hoping to purchse FTM 2006 here pretty soon. I have a week off in October and FTM 2006 comes with a free subscription to www.ancestry.com for one year and a 30 day subscription to the world collection, so I would have access to the Scottish records. Its only $25 but with money being tight I may not be able to. And starting with FTM 2007 there is ancestry subscription with it, its separate and at least $200 a year which of course I really cant afford. Will want to have additional DNA testing done on Joeys sample but that too is spendy, about $100 I think. I'll have to recheck.

I started typing a letter to my aunt and uncle too, to let them know where we are at with the family genealogy tracing and to see if I can get a copy of a couple of items. Also to see what they would think of me putting together a family book of some sorts. I had hoped to have it done for Christmas this year but I think thats out of the question. Its about $10 a book to have printed and done. I could even include a family address book of all living members and a calendar of anniversaries and birthdays, something like that.

I asked Melissa what she thought of us contacting our mom's half siblings, assuming we could still find them. Whether its to introduce ourselves or to get family medical history info. But mom says she doesnt see why were so interested in our family history, especially hers. Since they never cared about her, why should she care about them.

I've emailed Robyn regarding a couple of genealogy items but havent heard anything back yet
