KUNSTENAARSPOSETZEGELS, Internationaal Post-Kunst Project at the
Galerij Begijnhof-Centrum Voor Kunsten. This exhibition was organized
by Guy Bleus of The Administration Center in Wellen. The exhibition was
also presented at Poorthuis Openluchtmuseum in Genk (July 1 - 24). A
selection of Jas' Artistamps may be seen and purchased at anytime at the
Davidson Galleries, 313 Occidental Avenue South., Seattle, Washington,
USA.
July 12 - August 1, 1995
- Montevideo
Jas participates in the exhibition Networking
at the Galeria Cinemateca Uruguay in Montevideo. This exhibition was
organized by the renown Latin American artist Clemente Padin. It was comprised
of three sections: Fax Art: Cinema: 100th Anniversary, Artistamps from
the Padin's Archive and Express yourself and send back
(1987-1992). Jas was represented in all three sections. His Fax Art
piece is reproduced in the exhibition's cataloge (on file).
May 3 - August 27, 1995 -
Paris
Early rubber stamp art by Jas is presented in the exhibition
L'art du tampon at the Musée de la Post in Paris. The
works by Jas included nine of his 1977-78 rubber-cut impressions used in
various FIVE/CINQ Aesthetics Ltd. MailArt projects, as well as his
Greetings Series and larger multi-impression rubber-cut prints
(catalogue on file).
Febrary 26 - April 24,
1995 - San Francisco
Artistamps by Jas, including his 1974 Canadada,
(reproduced in the cataloge) are presented in The First California
Artistamp Exhibit at University of California, Berkeley - San
Francisco Extension. The exhibit was organized by guest curator and artist
Patricia Tavenner (catalogue on file).
January 12 - February 11,
1995 - Vancouver
The Torres Gallery in Vancouver, British Columbia
presents the exhibition Impressiones de Barcelona by the
Canadian artist Jas. W. Felter. The exhibition includes his collages and
frottages of the "post-Christian, neo-pagan culture of Spain" that he created
during a recent, extended stay there. Jas found the ../../photos for the
collages in the city's daily newspapers, and made the frottages on the tiled
Barcelona sidewalks. A selection of these works may now be seen at the
Winchester Galleries at 1545 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, Canada.
January 26 - March 15,
1995 - Habana Vieja
The Museo Nacional Palacio de Bellas Artes in
Havana includes a sheet of Jas' Artistamps is the Havana '95
International Mail Art Show held at the Museum. Jas' Artistamp sheet
Rainforests of the Mind, is reproduced in the exhibition
catalogue (on file).
