Office humor
Yesterday I was walking my way home from Office after a long day. A few more minutes to my home, I heard the sound of footsteps behind.
I turned back and saw that my friend Amit was walking behind me. We both work in the same office although for different teams. We both are good friends too, incidentally.
He opened the conversation before I could say a Hi. He said, "It must have been a really bad day for me today".
I felt sorry for him on hearing that. We all work in production support for IT related applications used by clients and we may get a very bad day occasionally when something somewhere goes wrong and it takes a while to fix it.
I was curious on what went wrong with his application and hence I asked him "What happened". He replied, "I saw you quite a number of times today."
Yeah, that's true. I recollected that I saw him more than usual times that day. I saw him when he was going to office in the morning, then I saw him when I was having my lunch, he had to come to my team bay to discuss some ongoing issues, again we saw later in the evening when I went for a coffee break and finally I am seeing him again on the way back home. He was right, he did see me quite a number of times that day.
But wait, did you say that its because your day was bad?
I started looking for a tit for tat answer. But I soon realized that his statement was so good and I'm laughing. I did try to hide my smile on my face, but lost that battle too. I gave up. I smiled or rather I laughed.
It's innocent and sarcastic jokes like these that make your day. A good humor like this will remain in our mind for a long time and so does the guy who tells that. Probably in a similar situation, Ill reuse it too and gain the same advantage which Amit did.

Today I saw Amit again after I was returning to my desk after a lunch. I said "Amit, how are you doing". He was looking tired and gave a slow and sluggish reply. "Not so good".
I felt curious, probably looking for a naughty and witty answer. I always admired his quick jokes. I asked him, "How can I cheer you up?".
He probably was not in a mood for a joke at that time. He said, "You make my salary a five figure sum and I'll be happy".
I replied, "Ok, I'll talk to Aman about this.". (Aman is my collegue.)
Now, he felt curious. He made a question mark with his eye brows. "And? ..", he asked.
I said, "and we will laugh at you".
Yessssssssssss, this time I scored. I could see him going through what I went though. I saw him searching for an answer and the smile inside him was not allowing him to. Wow, that expression on his face was funny.
Its moments like these which makes a boring day at office worthwhile. I sure did have some good time and will remember this for a good enough long time to come.
