This weekend we went to the National Migratory Bird Day and watched as the cute little warvlers flocked around the boardwalk at Magee Marsh. They are only going to be there for two weeks so we had to get out there asap! This is our third year going and we always stay at South Beach Resort Hotel. It was really rainy this year and we all got saoked every day. My bro just sat in the car for five hours b/c he says he doesn't like birds. But he says he likes chickens and penguins! Talk about contradicting!

Our first hike was acutually a drive. This is the only time of the year they open one of the reserves for cars. I wouldn't want to walk 7 miles! We drove along the water and marsh for about two hours and saw tons of waders. We even spotted a immature bald eagle! He was being chased by a bunch of swallows! It was so funny!

At Magee Marsh they had a whole thing going on at the visitor center going on with duch decoys and displays. You could even borrow a pair of binoculars and a bird book! Around the back they had a buch of animal displays of birds and mammels that live at the reserve, and outside in the front they had live bird of prey that were brought in by the wildlife rescue team. They were all injured so they couldn't go back into the wild, so they were ambassadors for education. The bald eagle had one blind eye, and the sharp-shinned hawk had been hit by a train! I was so surprised she was still alive! I got a few good picture of the little ketrels and saw-whet owls.

At the boardwalk, we saw tons of little yeloow warblers flying in and out of the trees. They were so cute! I even saw a few other kinds of birds like the sora which is a squat wading bird. It looked kinda like a kiwi, but I think it could fly. The warblers we so brave, they came right up to the boardwalk and posed for pictures! Even with my crappy zoom I got a bunch of great pictures!

Well, that's it for now I guess. See you later!
