On July 2, 2006, I went on my first fire. It was huge!!!!!! I got to hang out at the command post and listen for radio calls to the chief. It was amazing to watch the fire clutch the land in its burning jaws. The fire grew very rapidly, and threatened many structures, however in my knowledge, no people or structures were lost.
