Kung Fu Kick
Today my mother was telling me about a fifth grader and an eighth grader getting into a fight at her school and it reminded me of way back when (three years ago) when this 7th grade boy and eighth grade girl got into a fight in my classroom. It was my first period, Business Technology Essentials class, the second year I taught middle school. The class was mostly eighth grade girls but there was this one seventh grade boy that was quiet and didn't really pay that much attention to anyone else. I guess the girls kind of thought that was weird because they didn't really like him. Well this particular morning this boy had for some reason decided to change seats and was sitting in the seat that belonged to the eighth grade girl mentioned earlier. She was none to happy about it when she came in and as I was taking attendance I heard them having words. I didn't think they were getting really heated but the next thing I know I look up and this boy is literally flying through the air and kung fu kicks this girl in the stomach. She flew across three chairs that were lined up behind her and landed on the bookcase. Madness ensued after this and I remember one of the other girls in the room standing over them as they wrestled in the floor waving one of our keyboarding books and yelling "get him." Once I got them out of the room I just sat there in amazement thinking about how what I had just witnessed reminded me of a scene in a Jackie Chan movie. All I could do was laugh. I'm still laughing...
