A Day in the Life of ME!!!
Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? Do you want fries with that?
No Two Are Alike

You know I guess it would make sense that I am a teacher seeing as how both my parents were.  I guess it's the apple/tree concept.  When I was a teenager I protested that I was never going to be a teacher and proclaimed to hate children.  I guess by action I proved that wasn't true since I was an assistant counselor at Girl Scout day camp and enjoyed it.  As I recall the summer that I did this I was counselor to girls going in to 4th grade that fall so I guess they were 9-10 years old.  I helped them with their crafts and timed them as they held their breath under water during swim time, the usual fun stuff.  That was my only summer as a camp counselor but it was a memorable one.

My other venture in to the hearts and minds of the young came when I was a senior in high school.  I was chosen, along with another guy, to be the D.A.R.E. representatives for our school system.  This meant that once a week for many, many weeks we checked out of school and went to one of three local elementary schools and talked to 5th graders about not using drugs.  GOOD TIMES!!!  Of course they thought we were cool because we were seniors and all that.  One particular youngster for reasons I do not remember started calling me Snowflake.  Months after this program was over, I had graduated and started college I was out and about and I hear 'Hey Snowflake!'  Turns out this little cutey pie was the son of one of my mothers coworkers and the little brother of one of my brothers good friends.  A couple of months ago one of my coworkers came in one Monday morning telling about being on the campus of The University that weekend and said she had a message for me.  The message..."Hey Snowflake!"  I think he's a junior in college now but I will always be Snowflake.
