Entry for July 9, 2007
Thanks!
I'd like to take a post to thank everyone for bothering to check my web log, and finding it worthwhile enough to post a comment. Mike Miles, Erik, Melissa Miles (via Mike), Tom Knaust, Nikki, Josh, Vlad, Em, "Testudo", Doug, Joe Delph, Coldilocks, Chris, Gary, Guilherme, and Sean: thanks! Keep letting me know what you think. If I don't answer your question or anything, and if I don't post often enough - I'm just not getting a chance to get on the internet (and occationally it's just that I have a better time outside than sitting in a library!).
Also, I'd like to thank Josh, Julie, Doug, Roger, Joe Delph, Tom Knaust, Abby, Stacie, Lindsey, Karen, Laura, Erik, Peter, Walt, Joe Owens, Alex, Lauren, Nick, and Chris for being so thoughtful as to wish me well on my trip. I've been carrying the card with me from Springer Mt, and it's going to have visited 14 states before it settles back in MD this fall.
Finally, I want to thank, still, a few more people. Brian Woodburn, Jackie, Paige, Gary, Hannah, Josh, Chris, Roger, Tarythe, Julie, Gary, Dave, Joe Delph, Jeremy, Nick and Tom Knaust for signing a card of more well wishes and misses. I miss you all too, and it was great getting to see a surprising lot of you and others above when I stopped by for a quick bit. (Lisa, I know you wanted to sign a card but that it didn't get to you. I understand, really).
Paige wants to know what gear is working out for me and what isn't. Anyone else have any requests for me to write about a certain topic?

Oh, and one last thing -- I hope you all know that my post way back on 4/22 titled "Assorted Complaints" was satire. No one commented on it, so I wasn't sure if everyone got it or not.
Hope to get writing some more things soon. Tomorrow is back to the trail after three (three!) full days without hiking. I'm sad to say I was able to adjust back to "real world" life pretty quickly and reasonably fully. I'll get back to the trail world even more quickly and 100% fully after just a few hours -- a day and a half at the absolute most.
