Assorted Complaints

So, there are a couple things that have been bugging me.  First, Daylight Savings Time.  It sounds like a great idea for farmers, and it makes sense for energy saving for everyone else and all, but for hikers, it is rediculous!  The sun is coming up at about 7am here after Daylight Savings, and that is okay now, but in just a few weeks when it is getting pretty warm, I am going to be wanting to get up that extra hour early to avoid the heat!  Then later, when the sun is setting around 8pm, it would ordinarily be setting at 7pm but we have to stay up that extra hour poking around doing nothing.  You get in to camp around 4 or 5, and staying up til 8 instead of 7?  Just wasted time.

Also, my legs have been getting rather fatigued from all the weight, doing all those hill climbs and all.  I have found, however, a way to fix this.  I am tightening the shoulder straps and chest strap so that my upper torso is carrying more of the weight, and my legs don't have to lift so much.  I go back and forth between doing all legs and some legs and some arms/chest to distribute the energy better.

These sort of things are minor however, and I don't let them get to me so much.  Mostly things are going very well here; thanks for checking in!

I forgot to mention a good trick I've learned: if I see a steep hill up ahead, I'll stop and drink a lot of water so that I'll have less weight going up the hill. Also, sometimes I carry things in my pockets if my pack is too heavy. You learn these things over the days... makes the going easier!

ok the post was poor satire, but the comment you left was spectacularly funny.
