Rain!
Unbelievable but true-we're finally getting much needed rain. Dad has stuck to his 5 min 2x a day ride on the computerized exercise bike,which simulates hills & all that ever since New Years. I'm actually playing flute a few times a week,and just discovered a cork missing off one of the trilling keys. (not that I'm even close to using one-I'm still in the "can I get a tone when I go to play" stage) but I am shopping the online auctions to get a 2nd flute as a back-up. And I'm eyeballing those flute repair kits-I must confess when I saw the $170 fee for re doing the pads I about fell over. If I got a kit with my tax refund I could start experimenting with other inexpensive flutes and perhaps start offering my flute fixin services locally. I haven't decided yet,but it's in my mind. Egads I just purchased 7 yds of halloween fabric for a steal. I'm seriously wanting to sew trick or treat bags for kids so they don't have to use the "poisonous import" ones.
Reading wise I just picked up a book on blogging & how to earn $ from it. I'm considering different topics,but no decision as yet-I just started the book!
At the part time day job there's a chance I may get to go to a different department which would take pressures off of me for having to deal with an office bully. I would still see the bully pass by here & there should I get the position,but the bully in question would no longer be over me nor have any reason to speak to me. I'm doing my best to maintain a laid back attitude about the entire thing.
Yahoo needs to make the flute avatar where one can wear clothes one would truly wear while holding a flute-there's no way gothic retro 70's me would ever be caught in a dress like that. And I'm even more surprised they don't offer an avatar of a guy playing flute-it's not just a womens instrument!
The writers strike has done me wonders-aside from the local news & the NFL,I've sworn off TV. Seriously. And I've discovered other wonderful things to get into like playing flute,getting off my duff & getting organized,just dipping into life more. I hope the strike goes for a while longer (nothing against the writers!)
