Talking turkey,part II
Happy Thanksgiving! As I was discussing yesterday,I realised I have been shorting myself due to different attutudes or childhood impressions I unknowingly adopted as a kid. I unexpectedly wound up in the much neglected kitchen yesterday afternoon, and spent a few hours dusting, sorting, cleaning,& re arranging. Still a ways to go but it already looks more welcoming & warm. I made sure I focused on an area that hits your eye as soon as you enter. I'll be decorating the kitchen for the holidays. I won a cross stitch kit of a canadian goose wearing a Yule wreath & that will be completed & framed for next holiday season....that will hang in the kitchen.
Sarah Ban Breathnach has been really helpful in getting me moving forward once again. (referred to to as SBB from now on)
These days off will be spent doing more neatening up and switching out my holiday waistcoats. I completed one armwarmer made from sock yarn & have started the other, and I'd like to make a Yule tote for myself. Musically-I gotta get on guitar again, and plunk some carols-flute wise I got a cool backpack that's really a flute case so I need to polish the flute & switch it to it's new "home",(the original case is well worn & reeks of cigarettes) along with the cleaning accessories I got to go with it.
Today Dad & I will have a wonderful feast of turkey legs, dressing, vegies, apple pie & football. I made sure "user" relatives who have proved themselves to be repeat self centered takers will not be coming. The same will happen for Yule.
