Are you Terribly Shy?
Shyness can be a mental handicap and a crippling as the most severe of physical handicaps.
Shyness prevents you of the chance to meet people, from speaking up and fighting for your rights and speaking your own opinions. It is shyness that makes it hard to think clearly and communicate effectively. It is always accompanied by negative feelings like depression, anxiety, and loneliness. Lastly, shyness prevents you from getting ahead, from attaining your goal in life of being prosperous and enjoying life to the fullest.
Shyness can be conquered, set aside or outgrown. Some don’t know how to start a conversation or speak up in the class. Others don’t have the confidence to do what they know is right.
At its best, shyness can be a blessing in disguise. They allow society to rest in peace. A shy person stands back and observes first, and then acts cautiously. Similarly, the shy person can easily avoid interpersonal conflicts and may be valued as a good listener.
