The picture above shows the Bunya Pine... which according to some botanists, is not really from the pine family. Nevertheless, there is a famous national park about 60km off Dalby called the Bunya Mountains... And overthere, you're allowed to drive through the park... The only park you are allowed to drive through in Queensland... so I've heard.
Have been contemplating driving out there to check it out - bypassed it on the way to Kingaroy, bypassed it again on the way to Beerwah (where the zoo was) and didn't quite reach there the last time I went shopping in Dalby.
See, internet is a wonderful thing. Before surfing the net for pictures of the Bunya pine, I was all hyped up about going there. But now that I know what it looks like, I realise I've seen the same tree over here in Chinchilla...
But of course, they claim that there are giant trees reminiscent of the sequoia at the jungle... er... I mean park.
Well, maybe I'll go there, maybe I won't.
Meanwhile, I should be working in Aussie till mid-June... So plenty of time to decide on the next few destinations. Perhaps, I should spend a night at the Gold Coast, and dig the sand, surf and hehe... I'm not telling... er... cos I dunno - haven't been.
Gonna have a party on Friday night because one major scope is over... I'll be moving on to a new supervisor and that means new tasks... GREAT! Let's keep up the good work!
