Road Trains on Warrego Highway
photo

The Warrego Highway is the lifeline of towns to the west of Brisbane. However, do not be fooled, it is just a simple dual carriageway not much wider than the old trunk roads in Malaysia.

The road trains are trucks which carry a second load or a longer load than the average container... They are extremely compliant to the speed limit, but you don't want them to tail behind you, now do you?

There are road signs forbidding them to use air-brakes when passing through towns... That explains the speed limits of 60kmph as you enter any town along the Warrego Highway.
