Today, I learnt a few tricks of the trade at work - basically, what not to do and what to do. It's fascinating how much we have to learn in life.
Take cooking for instance... Thank God I inherited my family's cooking skills. I'm blessed with a family that eats as well as cooks - I never formally learnt cooking except in school. Mihun goreng, telur dadar, savoury oatmeal, rock buns, recipes I can't remember.
Tonight, I served lamb chops with baked beans and carrots. The lamb chops were marinated with a darling find - Teriyaki Lemon sauce (found only in Chinchilla, haha -I'd never seen it sold anywhere else before). Grilled to perfection in my oven. Topped with pan-fried baked beans and carrots.
See it's a simple meal and I think more delicious than ever - bwahahaha!
So how did I learn to cook - same way I learnt to walk - OBSErVatION! If you want to learn anything in life, it starts with observation.
| You Are a Creative Cook |
Your cooking is unusual, inspired, and definitely one of a kind. People love your unique style, but you've had your share of kitchen flops. You have the makings of a cult chef. You may not cook at the Four Seasons, but you could have your own little funky cafe in San Francisco! |
