Hello all,
I have renewed the three borrowed copies of Stephen
King's DIFFERENT SEASONS, so you are free to keep them
until our next workshop.
For those of you who could not attend today's session,
I have copies of duMaurier's writer's notebook for
REBECCA. Let me know when you would like to pick up
your copy.
To prepare for our next workshop, read the writer's
notebook for REBECCA and then read the novel. Compare
the two. At the workshop on January 17th (Mary's
birthday!), we will discuss the novel as it compares
to the writer's notebook and listen to a reading of
REBECCA recorded by Anna Massey, a stage and screen
actress. After a party featuring healthy, fresh
appetizers, those of you who want to stay can see
director Alfred Hitchcock's film REBECCA on the big
screen. Adapted from the novel by Philip MacDonald and
Michael Hogan; screenplay by Robert E. Sherwood and
Joan Harrison; starring Lawrence Olivier and Joan
Fontaine in the leading roles. It's a four-star film,
but how does it compare to the novel? You decide. We
will begin the film at noon. Running time is 2 hours,
9 minutes.
See you on the 17th. :)
