Tonight we held troop elections. The following scouts were elected for these positions for the next four months:

After the elections, Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Klekas told us about the upcoming hike on Sunday. It will be a backpacking conditioning hike, from Lake Poway, to the top of Mt. Woodson, and back down. We’ll meet at 8am at the Lake Poway gazebo. All scouts are to bring their own lunch, water, and a 20-pound pack. The hike is expected to be about 5 1/2 miles long. Mr. Sullivan suggested that the hikers might want to weight their pack with water. This way, if the pack gets too heavy or the scout gets too tired, the water can just be poured out to lighten the pack.

Mrs. Knapp announced that she will be teaching a Citizenship in the Community merit badge class, starting next week. All scouts interested in taking the class need to contact her directly.

Mrs. Jacobson announced the top popcorn sellers, and gave awards to everyone who sold popcorn.
