The Texas Rangers finished the season in last place this year and now are going back to the drawing boards to see what is available for them in the offseason. Some have speculated that the Rangers were going to try to sign Torii Hunter to a deal but that will yet be seen. Torii has a home in the Dallas fort worth area and said he would love to play for the Rangers but it would all depend on what they did in the offseason. There is only one really good pitcher available and that is Curt Schilling and the truth of the matter is the Rangers know that the odds of getting schilling are slim to none due to the fact that most pitchers don't like pitching in a hitters ballpark. The Rangers had several things that attributed to their NOT SO STELLAR season. They had injuries most of the season that really haunted them many of the players just weren't into it and that has to be dealt with and it will be. The Rangers are typically very shy about letting players go back to their home countries and play winter ball but this year it is something that manager Ron Washington wants done. He thinks that the younger players can work on their pitching and fielding by doing this and hey if it works it works.
