The Texas Rangers have not made a formal announcement yet but the can of worms was split yesterday when it was said that the Rangers have agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Braves that would send Mark Teixeira and Ron Mahay for C/1B Jarrod Saltalamacchia(my apologies if i did not spell that right), Elvis Andrus minor league shortstop who is compared to Derek Jeter, Neftali Feliz, and pending medical review more than likely the acquistion of Matt Harrison. Many people are already giving Jon Daniels grief about this trade but the truth of the matter is everyone of us writers knew it was going to happen. Plus on top of this the Rangers are getting two minor league pitchers from the always playoff bound Braves and a shortstop that has more than talent he has speed.

There is still much talk that the Rangers could trade Benoit and Gagne. Both of those relievers are getting much interest on the trade block and will likely at least one of them go to the trade of another team. More than likely it will be Benoit because the Rangers are reluctant to get rid of Gagne who has come out strong and have begun to talk  to his agent scott boras about possible extension. We will see be sure to watch the Rangers as they take on the Indians tonight without Mark Teixeira and Ron Mahay...but hey they will get to see former teammate Kenny Lofton...on the other side of the field.
