The Texas Rangers had a double header yesterday and guess what? They won them both and it was on what they have had at times this year been doing timely hitting and pitching. The Texas Rangers in game number one got a gem from John Rheinecker who pitched a solid game giving up a run which was unearned and walking one and striking out four. The Rangers have stated that he will likely be the fifth starter for the remainder of the year but with off days on thursday and monday they will not need a fifth starter till August fourth. In that case the Rangers said that they would use him in the bullpen for the time being and then use him in the fifth start of the rest of the year. Well, on top of that in the second game it was all on the offense of Travis Metcalf who had by far one of his best games ever in the major leagues. Metcalf went four for four and had an RBI and was just a homerun away from the cycle how cool would have that been. Of course in both those games Gagne closed and this is the first time in his career that he has closed both games in a doubleheader.

Well the heat continues on the trade of Teixeira and the Braves seem to be of most interest for him right now. They have decided that they would part ways with Saltalamacchia but the Rangers want some pitching in return for the BIG TEX. Now that the trade deadline is looming look for Atlanta to give a huge charge for him to fill the void of Andrew Jones who is a free agent after this year. The other teams of interest have somewhat backed off due to the high price that the Rangers are asking and Boston is not willing to give up Clay Buckholtz which was one of the pitchers the Rangers were eyeing. Now with that said you can see one of two things happening Tex traded to Atlanta or absolutely nothing. But honestly I still think that the Rangers are going to get rid of him he is way to high to pay. Well check back soon the trades are coming through and I am busy as you know who.
