The Texas Rangers who before the All Star break was turning up the heat on the 3rd place Athletics have all of the sudden hit a skid in the road. Since the All Star break the Rangers have only won 3 to 5 games and have a losing record. The front office is still very positive about this season and thinks that the best will not be until next year or so. The Rangers need a total revamp to their bullpen and the only way that is going to happen is if one of the other teams is willing to give up something in return. That is NOT the only thinng that needs revamping the Rangers have some older players that are NOT performing and they are willing to give them up if other teams are willing to give up a pitcher or two.  The Rangers took on the Indians this weekend and really did NOT look like the team that they were before the all star break and this is really starting to wear on the Rangers front office. So now let's take a look at what could happen if the Rangers were to trade one of their players.

If the Rangers were to let's say trade Texeira the Rangers have said that they want 2 quality starting pitchers plus another position player possibly 1st base in return. Other teams in the major leagues that have plenty of pitching such as the Yankees and Red Sox are NOT willing to trade their young prospects because they do NOT want to be screwed...again like I have said before they are NOT in the business of getting screwed they are in the business of doing the screwing. The Atlanta Braves scouts have too been on the Rangers tails everywhere they go and it looks like they are one of the teams willing to give what the Rangers want...so Tex in a braves uniform in the next week could be a strong possiblity. So keep and eye out Tex may have spent his last days in Texas...we will see.

The Rangers have such bullpen help that is being scouted like Benoit and Mahay but the Rangers are supposedly wanting to much for these guys and plus the Rangers really don't want to screw up a bullpen that has been their saving grace plenty of times this year. Other names on the block right now are Wilkerson, Sosa, and Jamey Wright one of the Rangers starting pitchers. The Rangers have said plenty of times and Jon Daniels has been quoted as saying that they are NOT going to have a fire sale...but at this point in the season some people are going to have to go. Many people love Texeira but he has stated several times this year he is getting frustrated with how this team is being run and he has been wanting to go to a contending team for sometime now. So believe it or not even if the Rangers don't do anything with him this year don't expect to ever see him win a playoff game in the state of Texas.

Now one last side note: I have heard and have continued to hear that the Rangers need to just fire the manager and he is the problem for the team. Let me ask you people this when you played ball was it your coach on the field or you? You got it it was you on the field and if you lost the game it was NOT and NEVER his fault. Why? Because he is the coach and coaches don't win championships players win them. The Rangers do love the new manager and want to see him improve over the years but you can't expect a lot from a guy who came in to a broken organization and has had to fix it. The Rangers have seen improvement in many areas this year and will continue to see improvement so give this guy a BREAK for crying out loud. Now if this coach is still as bad as he was his first season in the major leagues three or four years down the road then you can FIRE him but give the guy a break. Part and most of the problem is that the Rangers owner Tom Hicks is too busy with the DALLAS STARS and now he and his friend bought the soccer team liverpool so now he has those on his plate and he has neglected the Rangers and continues to neglect them if you don't want them Hicks give them to someone that does....ME!

The Texas Rangers will send out Kevin Millwood tonight as the Mariners will send out Ramirez. The game time is at 7:35pm and the game will be broadcast on foxsports net. SO GUYS IT IS TIME FOR YOU ALL TO GET ER DONE.
