Rangers win series against Oakland but can't sweep

The Texas Rangers on Tuesday pulled out the bats and really turned up the heat on the Oakland Athletics who are trying to stay out of last place. The Rangers Michael Young in that game went 5 for 5 and had a few doubles along with the team who had several doubles in the game and landed that game by a long shot by the score of 11-4.

On a day that the Rangers were looking to sweep the Athletics and turn up the heat even more on the third place Athletics they just couldn't get it done. The Rangers pitching was ok and Millwood only allowed one earned run in his six plus innings of pitching but a costly error in the second inning added a few more runs unearned. Millwood with that loss will go to a very NOT Millwood like 6-8 on the season with a ERA higher than Willie Nelson after smoking weed. The Rangers are really hoping that the rest of the starting lineup in pitching will improve and get much needed help soon.

Now that the Rangers are needing help in the pitching rotation they maybe  willing to give up some more stuff if they get some starting pitching in return. The Rangers are looking at some teams and some of the teams that are really coveting the Rangers relievers are going to come after them a little more now...the question is that the Rangers again I have said it many times are NOT going to give up anything unless they get something in return. The Rangers have been screwed several times in the past and JD is not wanting to get something that is going to FLOP on them as soon as they get here. The Yankees are still coveting Mark Teixeira right now and the Rangers are NOT willing to give him up unless they get some great starters in return the big name linked to the Rangers would be that of Phil Hughes...but it won't happen...you can expect to see Tex in a Rangers uniform for at least the next year then he will more than likely be gone...but leaving before then I really don't think will happen. Now that the trade deadline is looming I will continue to listen for any breaking Rangers news and bring it straight to your PC.

Be sure to watch the Rangers tonight as they take on the Cleveland Indians and the tribe will send out their ace CC Sabathia and the Rangers are going to counter with Kameron Loe. The gametime is that of 7:35 pm ct and it will be broadcast on FSN SW. Just a side note: Be sure to pick up your tix for Saturdays game as the Rangers will tribute Sammy Sosa in a pregame ceremony.
