WOW, what a big question but because someone wanted me to answer it the service is yours. The big question all year is if the Rangers big first baseman is going to be traded? The truth of the matter is it is going to happen sometime in the next year but will it happen in the next 3 weeks. I honestly don't think he is going to be traded this year unless a big name pitcher is involved with his name and that has not happened the one pitcher that was out there in Chicago is NO LONGER on the market. There have been several trade inquiries from other teams not involving Mark Teixeira but involving the names of the two best closers on the team Akinori Otsuka and Eric Gagne...but yet the Rangers are NOT going to trade unless they think they are going to get something in return that will make them very competitive next season.
This is honestly what I think and yes take it as a grain of salt if you would like because yes it is only my opinion but this is how I think it is going to shape up. If the Rangers get off to the bad start in the second half that they did in the first half this is what I think will start happening the Rangers will start to talk to other teams about the possibility of trading Mark Teixeira, Akinori Otsuka and or Eric Gagne. The truth of the matter is the Rangers are not going to throw in the towels just yet though because before the all star break they won 15 out of 23 of their games and the starting pitching just really turned on the heat and they won series against Boston and Detroit. So the answer to your question is only if the Rangers get off to that bad start in the second half will they even consider trading any of their big names especially Mark Teixeira.
Yes I know the New York Yankees are interested but the Rangers are wanting to get something good in return(mainly starting pitching) and as usual the Yankees don't want to give any up because they are only in the business of screwing teams NOT getting screwed by other teams. The Rangers feel like they can get 2 quality starters for Mark Teixeira and if they don't get them then they are NOT going to move him until they get some good quality starter in exchange. So don't push too much for him being traded because it is NOT going to happen this season unless those things and only those things happen and believe it or not it is NOT going to happen because I am going to go out on a limb here and say it the Rangers are going to have the best second half record of all the major league teams just watch.
Be sure to watch the Rangers tonight as they take on the Angels in Los Angeles and the gametime if I am not mistaken is 9:05 pm Texas time. The Rangers are sending out the better Kevin Millwood while the Angels counter with one of their aces Kelvim Escobar. You can check out the game on My27 or on KRLD in the local DFW area. GOOD LUCK GUYS AND REMEMBER AS ALWAYS GET ER DONE.
