The Texas Rangers have won their last two games and are winning them against the Major Leagues highest scoring offense and first place Detroit Tigers. The Rangers who have won their last five series against some of the toughest teams in baseball have done it with good pitching and timely hitting and really good defense. The most notable of all the players right now is the Rangers Marlon Byrd who is hitting .410 with 17 runs scored and 18 RBI's in the month of June. Byrd has had the clutch hits in the last two games and last night was the hit that won it all...with 2 RBI's in the ninth with two outs and Ramon Vasquez brought Byrd in for the game clincher. The Rangers Eric Gagne came in and took them down to the one two three inning and really showed them how the game is played.
The Rangers who have had Mark Teixeira on the DL and will more than likely have him on it till after the All star break have found his replacement with Marlon Byrd. Byrd said he just came up wanting to hit the ball well and get on base and give the guys a chance to win and has been doing just that. The Rangers like I said all they needed to do is trust this coach and things would start to turn around. The Rangers not only have TRUST but they are starting to believe in themselves now even when they are down they know that they can come out and still give them a chance to win. The Rangers pitching has been that of playoff caliber pitching and really have given them the shot to win the last 5 of their series and to get them somewhat back in the west...yes, I don't think that they will come back to win the west unless someone falls flat on their face i do see this team putting it a lot closer than what people have said they would be. This is a team that is really showing that they can hang with the best so if they continue to keep this up hey maybe the WILD CARD. Ok, we will just keep it one game at a time and hopefully they can get the rest of the season off to the BIG BANG.
Be sure to watch the Rangers today as they face the Detroit Tigers in a 12:05 game as the Rangers will send out Kevin Millwood and the Tigers will send out the former Ranger and nemesis Kenny Rogers to counter. The Rangers could really come a little bit closer to third place if they hang on to win so GUYS LET"S GET ER DONE.
