Rangers take the Silver Boot back

The Texas Rangers over the weekend did all they could do to wrap up the Silver Boot and they did it with timely hitting and good pitching. The Rangers on the homestand were 4 and 2 and somewhat at times looked like they were going to crawl out of the hole they dug for themselves in the early part of the season. The only game that the rangers had a problem with winning was the game last night but you have to give them credit for coming back twice in the game to send it to extra innings. But a bad call on CJ wilson's pitch which should have been strike three to Craig Biggio ended up being a double that pretty much won the game for Houston. The good news out of all of this is that the Rangers have won their last four series and are somewhat looking like the team that everyone was hoping they would be at the beginning of the season. Even with the injuries to Mark Teixeira and Hank Blalock the Rangers have still stepped it up a notch to really show that they still have it in them to compete in the Major Leagues.

The Rangers did get a bit of bad news on Sunday or good depending on who you are. The news is out that the Rangers did finally get it out of Padilla that he is still hurt and that he needs some time off to get the inflammation in his elbow to go down. The problem is the Rangers knew at the beginning of the season that he had the problem yet they marched him out there start after start to get shelled. The truth of the matter is yes some people may see him as a workhorse because he went out there in pain and gave it his all, but I see that as pure selfishness...he went out knowing that he could NOT pitch but knows that without good performances he would lose some of his salary the Rangers are paying him this year. Oh well they will learn that when someone like him says he is ok he is NOT. The manager has tried to instill something in these players called trust and he trusted Padilla to go out there and continue to perform...yet Padilla knew he couldn't. This is just another classic example of him POUTING as usual...the Rangers want him to change his pitching style and he doesn't want to he wants to do things his way. Well, all I have to say is Padilla if you think you can do a better job then let's see you MANAGE A TEAM...and yes in this country we speak english...no translaters allowed for managers.

Well, enough of that the Rangers will start a four game series with the Detroit Tigers and the Tigers are sending out their ace this year Jeremy Bonderman(8-0) against the Rangers Kameron Loe(3-6) but has won his last two decisions. So Texas you have proven you can score runs SO LET"S GO TO DETROIT AND GET ER DONE.
