The Texas Rangers took another hit to their rotation last night night when the youngster Kameron Loe only went two and two thirds innings. Kam gave up 9 runs and all of them were earned including a two run homerun by Gary Sheffield. Ron Washington had to go to the bullpen early for the third straight game and honestly you can't see it but I can they are getting frustrated. The truth of the matter is the Rangers have not shown it yet but they will as the summer goes on and you will definitely see alot of ejections just due to frustrations. The Ranger bat of Mark Teixeira stayed hot as he hit his fourteenth homerun of the year but that was not enough to get the Rangers back as they lost 11-4.
The Rangers did get some good news yesterday when the draft came out and that was in the first round and their first pick they were able to pick up Blake Beavan from Irving High School. The Rangers had been scouting him for a while and had said if he was still in the draft pool then they would snatch him right up. The thing the Rangers liked about the pitcher was that he had 127 strikeouts to only 4 walks last year and that is amazing. The young man did state during the game last night during an interview with Josh Lewin and Tom Grieve that he is giving himself 3 years to be on the mound for the Rangers. This young man has been compared to Randy Johnson and has a arm that if it stays the way it is is going to be a force to recon with. The other accomplishment was that he threw a no hitter in his only start of the high school playoffs against the MacArthur High School. This kid has potential if he does not push himself and does not get hurt along the way this kid could be just what the doctor ordered.
The Rangers take on the Milwalkee Brewers tonight and former Rangers Mench and Cordero. The Rangers will send out the youngster Tejada while the Brewers will send out Capuano. The game time is at 7:35pm so go get your tickets and root root root for the Rangers.
