The Texas Rangers did it again they lost they were swept by one of the worse teams in the AL and a team that has a worse team pitching ERA than them. The Rangers are trying way to hard they are NOT doing the simple things that will let them get over this hump. I am not dogging on anyone but the Rangers because two of the last two games they could have won in extra innings but instead they hung their heads in the sand. There is some good news for the Rangers and that is they come to Houston and get to face Brad Lidge who has flat fallen on his face this year when it comes to games that count. This game even though the Rangers are dead last and the astros are in second place will still be a battle to the finish I guarantee it.
The Rangers do get to face one of their former big boys this series in El Caballo or too us gringos as Carlos Lee. Carlos leads the Astros in Hr's and RBIS and may know some of the Ranger pitcher tricks. He will have a tough time at least the first game of the series going against Robinson Tejada...who is really the only Ranger pitcher with a winning record at 3-3. This series despite what people tell you will be a fight to the finish the Rangers will go out there tonight thru Sunday and give the boys a run for their money. On another note, Sammy Sosa gets to return to face a team that he has faced in the past in the Houston Astros and honestly the left field porch is going to be a friend to Sosa. My prediction is that Sosa will hit two homeruns in the Astros series and then will get his 600th at home against the Minnesota Twins. Some may think that this is too soon for him to get his 600th but if I was a gambling man I would bet that Sammy Sosa would get the record in the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
Some may want to know what the Rangers have to do to win this series and that is they need to pitch and pitch well. Basically they need to pitch like this is the World Series and they need to hit and have it all fall into place. If there is a series the guys can turn things around it will be now. This can and possibly be the turn for the boys of summer in blue and white so while you are rooting for the Texas Rangers this year or this series remember we are working with young gun slingers out there. Good luck to the Rangers and I will see you in Houston and the PLAYOFFS NEAR YOU.
