The Texas Rangers yesterday in a doubleheader with the NY Yankees had several chances to win at leas the first game but the Yankees come thru on the clutch. The Texas Rangers had two wonderful pitched games and had enough to win but nothing. The Rangers in Game 1 sent Mike Wood to the mound and he got the no decision...while Joaquin Benoit took the loss. Wood was pitching for Millwood who has maybe tweaked his hamstring. In the second game of the doubleheader the Rangers only managed two runs despite a good outing by starter Robinson Tejada. Tejada went 6 and one third innings giving up 3 runs striking out six and walking one. Sammy Sosa had to leave the game in the sixth inning when the Yankee pitcher hit him in the shoulder with a fastball and it bounced off hit his head and knocked off his helmet.
One may want to know what I think we should do with this team and honestly I say stick with them you have to remember this is a new coach trying to teach these kids new ways. Plus, you have to look at the bright side you remember when Ozzie Guillen first took over the Detroit Tigers you guessed it in his first season the worst record in baseball and the seasons following they were in the playoffs so don't give up on these boys just yet. This team has everything they need to win. They have wonderful pitching and then they don't get any runs but when the bats get hot the pitching will be there to back them up. Really the problem that I see is the fact that the Texas Rangers are getting great pitching they are just having a hard time scoring runs when it counts. That is something that they can and will work on and when they do this will be one of the fiercest teams in MLB. I know you have heard me say this on and on but stick with this team and the new manager and you will see good things in the years to come. Don't expect big things in his first season no one in their first season has taken a team to the WS, so don't get your hopes up just stick with this team and I SAID IT and will say it again they will be the BEST TEAM IN MLB.
