The Texas Rangers won the series against the Oakland Athletics in some old fashion. They did it in comeback fashion and something they really haven't done since Johnny Oates. The Rangers were creamated the first game of the series 16-4 and Brandon McCarthy was roughed up for his second time in his 3rd outing. Then game two rolled around and Kameron Loe made his debut as the Rangers fifth starter and got his first win of the season going 5 and a third inning and striking out 5 and only walking one. Game three of the series for starting pitching was not what it was all cut out to be either Tejada when he left the game did NOT look like they were going to win the game but a Blalock double with the bases loaded gave the Rangers the lead and they NEVER looked back.
Some bad news last night though against the Athletics and that is that Eric Gagne took a line drive off the leg and had to hobble off with one out in the ninth inning. When later asked about it many of the players and even Ron Washington said it was nothing to serious and that they would reevaluate him to see if they had to put him on the DL. The likeliness of him going on the DL according to Eric is very slim, he said that he was feeling much better after moving it around.
The Texas Rangers open up a two game series at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington tonight against the Seattle Mariners. The Rangers will send out the 2-2 Kevin Millwood and the Mariners will counter with the NOT yet used 0-0 Baek. Millwood is looking to bounce back after losing his last two decisions. The Rangers have won two of their last three and hopefully this is a sign of some things to come. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 CDT. COME ON GUYS LET'S GET EM' DONE.
