Rangers Slam Chicago with Big Bats; Kinsler named AL Player of the Week

WOW, all I have to say after last nights game was WELCOME HOME SAMMY. Sammy Sosa went deep in the eighth inning after the White Sox coach Ozzie Guillen decided he wanted to walk Texeira before that. Then on a 0-2 fastball Sosa went deep for the third time this young season. The Rangers won this game on consistant pitching and great defense though as Robinson Tejada went seven innings only giving up one run which came off a solo shot from Jim Thome and only 3 hits and now has a record of 2-1 with just a little over a 3.00ERA. That was not the only good thing that happened in the night though. Brad Wilkerson went deep to give the Rangers the 2-1 lead in front of Robinson Tejada, then the man of the week for the Texas Rangers Ian Kinsler went deep for his seventh home run of the year. Now with that number seven that Kinsler hit last night he is already half way to the total that he had last year. The only bit of bad news from last night is that the Rangers lost Brad Wilkerson in the ninth inning because of some discomfort in his knee...Jerry Hairston Jr. replaced him for the remainder of the game and the Rangers are looking at what to do next as far as Wilkerson goes.

OK, I forgot to blog yesterday and it was a good day for Ian Kinsler who won the AL Player of the Week. He had 4 home runs and 8 RBI's and a batting average and on base percentage that would make Barry Bonds jealous. This young man has and will continue to make himself better and just the fact of having such veterans as Kenny Lofton and Sammy Sosa on the team will help out for making him a very fierce hitter.

The Texas Rangers take on the Chicago White Sox again tonight at 7:11pm. The Rangers will send out the 2-1 Kevin Millwood with the 3.71ERA against the White Sox Buehrle who is yet to win a game and has an ERA of over 4.00. The Rangers could use another victory to help them out in the standings so boys let's get er done.
