Hey all,
No spring training news from yesterday because the Rangers were off. But that does not mean there was no news in the Rangers world a matter of fact there was good news yesterday for rangers fans.
The Texas Rangers bought back the rights to the Ballpark in Arlington from Ameriquest who has been having problems here of late including some legal issues and now effective immediately it is now the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Some changes will and have been made and those are that the big bell is now gone and all the sponsors that Ameriquest got are being removed from the rangers outfield walls.
Ok, one might already ask do I think this is a good move? Here is the answer and that is WHY OF COURSE the rangers said at the end of last season there were going to be some changes to the organization and boy have those changes come about: those changes being the acquistion of pitchers, the bringing up of their farm system, and the increase in base stealing and much other things and guess what the changes are being made. Ok there is one slight problem with them buying back the name though and that is the fact that they will lose 2 and a half million a year over the next some odd years to get the rights back...but hey this is Tom Hicks we are talking about this guy is loaded...he always finds money to do stuff...for instance, Mike Modano as the poster boy for the Dallas Stars and now Michael Young who is now the poster boy for the Texas Rangers.
Ok that is my rant on for today stay tuned to this really cool blog to find out stuff you may have not known and get my opinion and remember to leave questions for Friday who is now an open question Fridays. For now I will go and SEE YOU ALL IN THE PLAYOFFS.
