The Texas Rangers broke camp on Thursday with all of their players pretty healthy but have decided to put ace Eric Gagne on the DL. They said it did not have anything to do with his performance the other day but honestly I think it might have a little to do with it plus the Rangers have to add Bruce Chen and Mike Wood on their major league roster or else drop them on waivers in that case giving them to any team that wants them for nothing. I think honestly this is a ploy to get Chen and Wood in the bullpen and when the time comes dropping them from the lineup and trying to trade them...which is NOT a bad move at all. For the time being the Rangers will go with last years closer Akinori Otsuka and use Kam Loe in the seventh and eighth innings. John Daniels said this was just the Rangers being overcautious because Mr. Hicks has too much money invested in this guy NOT for him to perform...we will see if this works out.

In other good news, the Rangers gained the services of Sammy Sosa yesterday after he had been out for three consecutive games with the stomach flu. Boy did he come back with a BANG though he smacked a home run his fifth of this spring and I will have to admit that maybe I am wrong I really didn't think he could come back after taking a year off. I will be the first to admit that I am wrong if this guy comes back this season is healthy and CRANKS at least 20 home runs. The bad news though yesterday is that the Rangers took yet another loss out of the game they lost to the Royals 7-5. Brandon McCarthy on the other hand stuck out four and did not walk a batter in four and two-third innings. Other than that the Rangers look to be a team that I can honestly say will SEE YOU IN THE PLAYOFFS.
