The Story So Far...
OK, So I'm back already. What can I say? I'm on break at work and there's not much else to do.
Right. What have I done to date?
Large numbers of short stories published over the years, in such magazines as:
Nasty Piece of Work, Sackcloth and Ashes, Enigmatic Tales, Unreal Dreams, Scared to Death, Terror Tales, Unsane, Odyssey, Dark Eyes, Sci-Fright, Supernatural Tales and All Hallows. If I missed any out, sorry.
Anthology appearances:
Beneath The Ground (ed. Joel Lane, Alchemy Press, 2003), Acquainted With The Night (ed. Barbara and Christopher Roden, Ash-Tree Press, 2006), The Year's Best Fantasy & Horror (ed. Ellen Datlow, Kelly Link & Gavin Grant), At Ease With The Dead (ed. Barbara & Christopher Roden, Ash-Tree Press, 2007).
Short story collection:
A Hazy Shade Of Winter, with an introduction by Joel Lane. Published Ash-Tree Press, 2004 Go to http://www.ash-tree.bc.ca/ashtreenews.html to buy it. You can also pick up At Ease With The Dead and Acquainted With The Night there. Go on, you know you want to...
I've also done a lot of work with Salford's own Dark Smile Productions, acting in several plays for local radio and CD release and scripting short pieces for two radio showcases. Go check out www.darksmile.co.uk for a free listen. In addition, I've written six short plays featuring a pair of Salford lads called Map and Steads: Map & Steads and Gemma; Map & Steads and the Irwell Pike; Riverside Blues; The Squid In The Sink; The Wake and Fireworks Night, which are available from the Dark Smile website for a mere tenner. There's also plenty of other cool stuff.
In addition, a 10 minute stage play, And Make Us Whole, was produced at Manchester's Contact Theatre in December 2005.
Right, I've bored you enough with that. Coming soon- what's to be inflicted on an unsuspecting world in the near future...
Till next time,
Simon.
