En Route to Hong Kong- Aug 12th
photo
Today we spent most of the day travelling from Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong.  We made it here with a few hours to see the sights. First we took the ferry (15 minutes) from Kowloon to the central area. Afterwards we waited on a huge line to take the Peak Tram up the mountain to see the skyline, the line was worth the wait! With only 30 minutes left to catch the last ferry around the Hong Kong Harbor ABC flagged down a cab and we drove down the mountain and made it to the ferry just in time. If we were one minute late we would have missed it.   I made it through the 1 hr fery ride, unable to stand I sat in a chair and watched while Bryan took the scenic photographs, I was able to stand for this one. Once we were back on land it was time to eat again. We went to "the best" Chinese restaurant according to Rough Guide and Lonely Planet, it was decent, bland compared to Vietnamese food but let me tell you, I like Mei Wah here in the DC area much better.  We walked around the bar/night life area that had tons of bars and no cars, mostly Americans, it felt like Fire Island in Hong Kong.  We stopped at the Hong Kong Brewery, Bryan wanted to buy another T-Shirt. We found out that the Brooklyn Brewery owns it.  Brooklyn is everywhere, we had to go all the way to Hong Kong for a Brooklyn Brewery T-Shirt.
