Getting out of Hanoi and arriving in Hue- August 4th
photo
When the call came that the taxi was downstairs and it was light out, we knew we were in trouble.  Since I had done all of my packing the night before I ran down with my stuff and learned that it was 5:45.  Our wake up call that was supposed to come at 4:15 ...didn't and the taxi that was supposed to leave the hotel at 5 was... ???? By the time Bryan made it downstairs he was furious. We knew we were going to miss our 6:30am flight and the ride to the airport was really relaxing:) Luckily we were able to get on the next flight to Hue without any problems. The next 5 hours were spent in the Hanoi airport. We found a comfortable couch that I slept on for 2 hours, an internet place and a restaurant that had so many mistakes on the English menu. Paguest (baguette) with anything you like.  At 12:10 we were ready to board, every0ne on our flight was from Spain how random.  We arrived in Hue and we are staying at the best hotel in town, The Saigon Morin.  We dropped off our stuff and headed to the Citadel, The Forbidden Purple City and the Imperial Enclosure. We took a cyclo around town, bought an alarm clock and booked a river boat tour for Sunday and a bus to Hoi An, our next destination.  We ended the evening with a charming dinner at Y Thao Garden, a decorated house on the outskirts of town.  The meals were presented beautifully. We even got to try Vietnamese wine for the first time.
