Mincha with the Monks
photo
We arrived in Luang Prabang today, the view from the plane was brillant.  On our flight we met a Jewish couple from England, so we agreed to meet up for a shabbas dinner Laotian style.  Meanwhile we checked into our guesthouse which is across the street from Wat something and went to look around and see what was going on. The monks here are extremely friendly. This quiet country town is  made up of monks and tourists. In addition, Luang Prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage sight.  After talking to the monks for a while, they excused themselves from the entrance to the temple because they had to attend their afternoon service. Once they were in the temple, they waved Bryan  and I  in to join them. We went in and listened to them chant(daven).  We felt this was just like going to Friday afternoon services. Then we met up with our new friends for dinner, we had some wine, bread and washed hands with CVS brand anti bacterial sanitizer.
