The wake up knock came at the door at 4:30 (we don't have phones in our room). Check out our place www.angkor-lanoria.com it is not the Chedi but it is comfortable. Bryan is still feverish so we are not going to the temples today. At 5:00am I met Kin outside and told him to come back at 1:00pm for me. I spent the morning making sure Bryan was hydrated and ate. He had a delicious breakfast of white rice, green tea and gatorade. Then I brought him lunch more rice with chicken this time (no hot sauce), more tea and gatorade.
I went to the landmine museum in the afternoon, it was a bumpy ride in the tuk-tuk but it was very interesting. This man Aki Ra was a child soldier who was forced by the Khmer Rouge Army to bury land mines when he was a child soldier. Now as an adult he has dedicated his life to finding and removing them. he also runs a school where he teaches English and various skills to 16 disabled children who live with him, his wife and his baby. This is a picture of a girl that I saw walking near the museum entrance, she is not disabled and doesn't live there. She reminded me of the children I read about in the book, First They Killed My Father, a must read for Cambodian tourists.
