| The goal of the mathematics curriculum in second grade is to develop a solid foundation of numeric operations or "number sense." Using a variety of concrete materials, children gain strategies to understand and develop number facts fluency and basic skills. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Reading skills are important in math and are necessary for understanding and solving math problems. Our classroom "Mathematics Fence" holds vocabulary related to our expanding number concepts. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
