Grunts are the standard infantry in the Shichisei. Fearless and innovative, they are the backbone of the Shichisei Forces. Grunts are superb foot soldiers, and also make excellent vehicle crews and workers as well. Shichisei Grunts are recruited from numerous worlds, whereupon they are trained in hand-to-hand combat and the use of weapons and technology.
The average Shichisei Grunt sees 12 to 24 months of intensive training on weapons care and maintenance, small squad tactics, basic field repairs, asset use, and maximization of asset expenditure. Basic training consists of heavy physical stresses on the body (to make the soldiers stronger and faster) and heavy use of weapons, armors, and technology. Educational classes on the known enemies as well as combat orientated war games all fall into the basic training. Discipline, order, and teamwork are literally drilled into the lives of the recruits.
