Concerning Japanese Verbs
Japanese verbs are roughly divided into three categories:

I. Vowel-stem verbs
    1. ?iru verb (���i���p)
        Ex. ����A����

    2. ?eru verb (����i���p)
        Ex. �H�ׂ�A�o��

II. Consonant-stem verbs (�ܒi���p)
    1. Stem consisting of one or more syllables plus a consonant.
        Ex. �L��A�����A�ǂ�

    2. Stem consisting of one or more syllables plus the consonant ?W.
        (This ?W is missing from dictionary form.  Thus the final U is preceded by another vowel.)
        Ex. �����A�K��

    3. Stem consisting of one or more syllables plus the consonant ?T
        Ex. �҂A����.

    4. Stem consisting of one or more syllables plus the consonant -S.
        Ex. �o��

III. Irregular verbs
    1. ����(�T�s�ϊi���p)

    2. ����(�J�s�ϊi���p)

    3. (�s�K���ܒi���p)
       �Ȃ���(honorific form of suru)
       ������(honorific form of kureru)
       ���������(honorific form of iu)
       ����������(honorific form of iru, iku, kuru)

     4. ������(�s�K���ܒi���p)
         Polite form of aru.  In modern Japanese, only the Second Verb Base is used.
Conjugations of Japanese Verbs

There are 6 bases in traditional Japanese grammar:

1. First Base ���R�` ?Negative Base
�@�@Although called Negative Base, this isn�ft it�fs only function.  However, it is most used.
�@�@Suffixes: -nai, -zu, -rareru, -saseru, etc.

2. Second Base �A�p�` ?Continuative Base
�@�@The most used Base.  Used for creating compound verb forms and Verbal nouns such as: �l���Aand �A��.  The second base also �@�@functions as a coordinating conjunction, �gand�h.  Ex. ��͉ƂŖ{��ǂ݁A���͐}���قŕ׋����܂����B
�@�@Suffixes: -masu, -tai, sugiru, yasui, nikui, etc.

3. Third Base a. �I�~�` ?Conclusive Base
     �@�@�@         b. �A�̌` ?Attributive Base
�@The Dictionary form.  In modern Japanese these bases no longer have separate forms.
�@(Exception: copular da[conclusive] and na[attributive]) Suffixes belong to the Attributive Base.
�@Sufffix: a. ?desho, daro  b.Noun

4.  Forth Base ����` ?Conditional Base
�@�gif�h and �gwhen�h
�@�@Suffix: -ba

5.  Fifth Base ���ߌ` ?Imperative Base
�@�@Used in rough speech for giving commands.
�@�@Ex. ������I

6.  Sixth Base ���ʌ` ?Tentative Base
