December 20th… Hong Kong
A day later, The wandering warrior was back standing in another long line at the Airport terminal. 'So this is what it is like to have a broken heart." He thought to himself.
'I think I would have much rather received a physical wound than this. At least a physical wound will heal over time.'
The line continued to move slowly forward. What should he do now that he lost the only woman he thought he could love?
'Should I try and locate where she is?' he thought to himself. 'What about this man she was with now. Was Chun li happy now that she finally found someone to love and who would return it?'
'No.' he thought to himself. 'I will not interfere with her happiness now. I squandered away what precious time I had with her. She is gone now, and I must move on.'
Later, as Ryu started to board the plane headed back to his homeland. He paused for a minute at the door, sighing deeply, he felt like he lost a piece of his soul here.
December 23rd… Japan
Ryu approached the small village located at the base of the immense forest that led to his home. Snow began to fall rapidly as he made his way through the village.
As Ryu was about to continue on his way out of town and on to the forest path, the village elder called out to him from his house.
"Ryu, student of revered Master Gouken. Will you not stay with us and enjoy our hospitality? Very bad weather is upon us, and travel now will be extremely hazardous."
"Arrigato, but I must decline your gracious offer. I must return home and take up my studies." Ryu said bowing politely to the elder.
"Then Safe journey Wanderer." The elder replied inclining his head and returned to the warmth of his home.
Ryu turned back to stare at the snow laden forest. It would take at least two days of hard travel to make it back to the dojo.
Hefting his worn duffel bag over his right shoulder, he sat off down the age worn trail as the snow began to fall rapidly.
